Addressing crime challenges in the district requires a comprehensive approach involving law enforcement, community organizations, local government, and residents working together to prevent crime, improve neighborhood safety, and enhance quality of life for all residents. Proactive strategies such as community policing efforts, neighborhood watch programs, crime prevention initiatives, and collaboration with social service agencies to address underlying issues contributing to crime and victimization.

  • Supporting Law Enforcement

    I prioritize supporting our law enforcement agencies and providing them with the resources, training, and tools they need to effectively combat crime in the district. We must ensure that our police officers have the necessary support and backing to uphold the rule of law and keep our community safe.

  • Promoting Community Policing

    I believe in the importance of fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and the community through community policing initiatives. We need to encourage greater collaboration and communication between police officers and residents to build trust, address community concerns, and prevent crime.

  • Cracking Down on Drug Trafficking and Substance Abuse

    I am committed to cracking down on drug trafficking and substance abuse in the district, which often contributes to other forms of crime in our community. We need to work closely with law enforcement agencies to target drug dealers and distributors, disrupt illicit drug networks, and provide support and resources for individuals struggling with addiction, while also focusing our efforts to lower the recidivism rates of those who have been incarcerated for illegal distribution.

  • No Gun Control - Enforce the Laws we Have

    I will prioritize enforcing laws related to the unlawful possession of firearms to prevent gun violence and enhance public safety in the district. Individuals who unlawfully possess firearms must be held accountable under the law, and we must work to ensure that our communities are free from the threat of illegal firearms. Too often those committing unlawful possession of a firearm are followed by a homicide. Stronger enforcement and punishment will save the lives of countless Louisvillians.
